Greetings friends.

The apostle Paul admonishes us in I Corinthians 12:1, “Now concerning spirituals gifts brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.” Apparently the apostle felt that spiritual gifts are one of those foundational doctrines that Christians should be particularly knowledgeable about. When Christians know their spiritual gifts and begin developing in them, they begin to experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from finding one’s niche in the kingdom of God.
I was frustrated when I began a comprehensive study of the gifts of the Spirit in 1994. I found many resources and authors who spoke very little of some of the gifts, particularly the miraculous gifts like tongues, healing, and prophecy. They would sometimes attribute these manifestations to self induced psychological phenomena at best, or outright demonic deception at worst. Other authors seemed to over glorify the role of the sign gifts and thus fell into error on the other side of the theological spectrum. It was my desire, therefore, to write a balanced treatment of the gifts and I did so in my book,
Spiritual Gifts: Their Purpose & Power.
The following spiritual gifts inventory is taken from that book. I hope that it can be a confirmation tool to help you confirm your giftings. More important than discovering your gifts, however, is using them in your ministry, at your church, and in whatever opportunities the Lord opens to you. I hope this gift inventory will be a blessing to you.
